It's an ethics case and I don't really see anything wrong with the situation although I should. Basically someone's starting a high-risk gold-mining venture in Canada. They want to request authorization for 90,000,000 shares of common stock to be sold to the general public and have decided to establish par of $.10 per share in order to appeal to a wide variety of potential investors because they feel investors would be more willing to invest in the company if they received a large quantity of shares for what might appear to be a "bargain" price. Does anyone see how this could be unethical? |

Best Answer So far: Answered by: Doug - 23 Months Ago. In the aftermath of WWII and the Korean War, as Europe and Asian rebuilds, America enjoys an unprecedented period of economic growth and conspicuous consumption.
With the rapid growth of wealth, it became culturally popular to purchase material goods far in excess of people's basic needs.
The original invention of money was a storage of contribution, so that if I do something good, I can get something in return at a later time. They motivation is a continuation of the start of human communities, which is to do stuff for each other.
Over time, the concept of money has become twisted, so that it's the money itself that's respected, instead of the contribution of the person to society. And what better way to display wealth than consumption.
This trend accelerated in the latter half of the 20th century, as people work to retire, so they don't need to work anymore. People want money so they don't have to contribute anymore. Which is a complete reversal of the original purpose of money in the economy.

Describe how American Cold War policies and practices influenced international relations from the late 1940s to the mid-1950s? |

Best Answer So far: Answered by: dvrh - 22 Months Ago. Western democracies, including US, Britain, and France, distrusted the Russians before WWII. After the agression by the Gemans and Axis powers, the West made necessary alliances with the Russians to counter the tremendous build up of military strength by the Germans.
Ater WWII, Russians subscribed to an ideology of military strength and foreign influence over their neighbors in order to prevent the possibility of military devestation. The West lead by the Americans leaned to democracies with strong economies to prevent a repeat of the extremism that started WWII. These differing ideology formed the basis of the Cold War, and separated the temprary wartime alliances into Communism vs the West.
The late 1940s to the early 1950s was a time when US-Soviet relations deteriorated rapidly. While Roosevelt believed that Soviet-occupied territories would be allowed to determine their own fate with free elections, Truman's suspicions quickly became true as most of East Europe fell behind the "Iron Curtain" by 1947.
American Cold War policies were meant to give aid to those nations fighting Communism, financially and militarily. This was the major focus of American international relations in that period.
After Korea War and Stalin's death in 1953, gradually there was an acceptance on both sides of a status quo.
