There is a key called "Print Screen" or "Print Scrn" on your keyboard, usually on the numeric keypad close to "Scroll Lock". Simply press that key, and your entire screen is captured into the "Windows clipboard". The clipboard is a standard buffer for transferring information from one application to another, using features such as cut, paste, and copy, under the "Edit" menu.

Pressing "Print Scrn" copies your screen into the clipboard. Then you can paste that image into some other program, like Word or Paint or whatever you need to use it in. IrfanView is very popular and easy to use to edit the screen image to part you need.

Pressing Alt+Print Scrn will get just a shot of the window you have highlighted.
